About The Position

The Destination Sales Executive will be part of the Sales team at The Westin Jekyll Island Beach Resort. This role involves working with the Sales Office, Area Sales team, and hotel leadership to bring group business to life. The position focuses on identifying new opportunities, coordinating memorable site visits, maximizing revenue, and building strong relationships with customers. The Westin Jekyll Island Beach Resort is a 200-room beachfront resort offering competitive pay and a culture that encourages fulfillment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with four years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related professional area.
  • OR A two-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major with two years of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area.
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the local destination.
  • Knowledge of the competitive market.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Sales Office, Area Sales team, Enterprise Sales Team, and other hotel departments to book group events.
  • Identify new group and catering opportunities.
  • Support personal and property revenue goals.
  • Coordinate site inspections, Familiarization Tours, and customer events.
  • Work closely with account managers to create personalized experiences.
  • Showcase the resort, highlight amenities and the local destination.
  • Use knowledge of the competitive market to demonstrate property uniqueness.
  • Connect with new and existing customers.
  • Qualify leads.
  • Identify future group and catering opportunities.
  • Participate in pre-planning visits.
  • Support group sales promotions.
  • Grow existing accounts.
  • Track leads and bookings from site visits.
  • Recommend opportunities for function space and revenue.
  • Greet and assist clients when they are onsite.
  • Escort overnight guests when appropriate.
  • Help coordinate special requests.
  • Support The Westin's Customer Service and Brand Standards throughout the sales process.
  • Help resolve customer concerns.
  • Ensure business is communicated and turned over properly to Event Management.
  • Participate in pre- and post-convention meetings to understand group needs, gather feedback, and help deliver service excellence at every customer touchpoint.
  • Participate in community organizations and local activities that support future business.
