We are seeking a Desktop Technician that will serve as a primary point of contact for end-users, delivering high-quality support and maintenance across FAIRWINDS desktop computing environment. The FAIRWINDS Desktop Support Team partners closely with the IT Help Desk to provide both on-site and remote support for thousands of client-side systems, peripherals, and applications across more than 30 locations throughout Central Florida. In this role, you will diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and accurate manner through in-person, phone, and email interactions, while providing hands-on assistance to support branch operations, office environments, and technology deployments. Your Role in Our Mission: Provide 1st and 2nd tier technical support to FAIRWINDS crewmembers requiring assistance with IT resources Install, configure, relocate, and support computers, phones, printers, scanners, A/V equipment, mobile devices, and other end-user technology Perform on-site setup and breakdown of workstations, equipment, and technology spaces, including mounting, securing, and positioning devices as needed Support branch openings, renovations, relocations, and special projects that require physical installation, equipment movement, and coordination with facilities and vendors Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills Educate and train end-users on the effective use of client-side IT infrastructure and supported applications Learn new systems, tools, and technologies to continuously expand technical knowledge and capabilities Provide after-hours or weekend support as needed for system upgrades, branch projects, and maintenance activities Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately once every 7 weeks), assisting IT Operations and Infrastructure teams with monitoring critical systems and escalating issues internally or to vendors as necessary What Makes You a Great Fit: Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience building, deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting computer systems and related peripherals Experience performing hands-on technical work in office or branch environments, including equipment installation and relocation Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations as needed Familiarity with ticketing systems such as JIRA Service Desk, ServiceNow, or equivalent platforms Experience working in enterprise environments with system imaging and configuration management tools such as Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), Intune, Active Directory, or Azure AD/Entra ID Strong working knowledge of desktop hardware, peripherals, and end-user devices Experience supporting audio/visual equipment is preferred macOS and iOS experience is a plus CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft 365 certification preferred Required to obtain CompTIA A+ certification within one year of employment A Culture of Care and Reward: You give your best, and we give back with a comprehensive and meaningful rewards package: Enjoy 11 paid holidays and generous paid time off to recharge and reset Build your future with a 6% 401(k) match Receive a $700 annual contribution to your Health Savings Account Access our comprehensive maternity leave program to support growing families Stay covered with medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Grow your career through leadership development, tuition assistance, and advancement opportunities Earn rewards for financial wellness through our Debt Free Club and Dave Ramsey’s SmartDollar program Thrive in a purpose-driven, people-first culture where your impact matters This is more than your next job.
