About The Position

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) is a 25-bed unit that operates under the critical care umbrella, focusing on cardiac patients typically monitored via telemetry. This is a fast-paced environment where patient acuity can change rapidly. The IMC staff works collaboratively to provide efficient patient care. The unit seeks energetic team members with innovative ideas to foster excellent patient care, encourage professional growth, and develop a cohesive team environment focused on nursing excellence. Taylor Hospital, a Magnet-designated facility since 1977, is a healthcare leader offering specialized services including 24-hour emergency care, wound care, a surgical pavilion, pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility, and advanced radiology services.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent, required
• 1 year of relevant experience

• Medical related experience, preferred

Responsibilities

• Under direction of licensed nursing staff, provides general clerical duties, reception duties and requisition of supplies, equipment, and coordinates with other departments for unit efficiency.
• Assists in maintaining the general function of the nursing unit.
• Answers call lights and forwards requests to appropriate team members.
• Schedules follow-up physician appointments for patients upon discharge.
• Assembles, disassembles, and maintains patient medical record per unit standard.
• Maintains competency and knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), including ongoing updates.
