About The Position

The Designer will utilize their extensive knowledge of market research and industry trends to help drive the overall design strategy and produce advanced-level graphic execution across men's, women's, youth, and accessories segments.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in Softline categories (e.g. raw materials, print, pattern, graphic composition, and manufacturing).
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organization skills.
  • Strong product design skills (e.g. graphic design, sketching, creative application and manipulation of art).
  • Strong computer software skills (e.g. MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite ( Photoshop, Illustrator), Google Slides.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g. Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Illustration)
  • 5-7 years experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of graphic and illustration styles (hand-drawn illustration skills preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Men’s Design Director and Women’s Design Director to set and inspire overall design strategy of graphic trends seasonally.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of current market, competitive landscape, and strong understanding of industry trends to gain inspiration and commercially translate to product category.
  • Provide insight on any new product categories, brand collaborations, IPs, ambassadors etc. for men’s, women’s & youth segments.
  • Participate in design kick off discussions with leadership team and present mood boards for seasonal trend direction and new development.
  • Translate licensed intellectual property to various products including, but not limited to, apparel and accessories for men’s, women’s, and youth.
  • Aid in executing advanced graphic print repeats, colorways, and color palettes for mainline, licensing, SMU and special projects at an advanced level.
  • Aid in developing tech packs for graphics, trims, packaging, and all additional artwork to be production ready.
  • Collaborate with product development to communicate critical design information related to the development and framework of product during tech pack hand off.
  • Review and comment on strike-offs and pre-production samples from factory development.
  • Communicate daily with cross-functional partners to execute work efficiently and meet deliverables for go to market strategy.
  • Aid in seasonal catalog creation and provide assets for cross functional teams.
  • Support and mentor junior designers to foster growth and development.
  • Travel locally for competitive market research and inspirational shopping each season.
