About The Position

MWA Architects is seeking a Designer to join our growing San Francisco infrastructure design studio. Our collaborative team designs sustainable, resilient, and beautiful facilities for the water, power, public works, and transportation sectors. We are looking for a team player who is responsible, enthusiastic, and organized, and who can adapt to the demands of multiple complex project scopes at all phases of design and construction. You will bring attention to detail, the ability to communicate with the design team and managers, and demonstrate critical judgment and acquired knowledge. Requirements

  • At least three to five years of project designer experience within a small to medium-sized firm/studio environment with at least two years of experience with assisting in highly technical project types, such as industrial, civic, commercial, administration, operations, laboratory, maintenance, facilities, public works, or transportation facilities.
  • Non-licensed architectural status with experience with California building codes. Oregon and/or Washington state also desirable.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, 3D computer modeling, SketchUp, and related programs
  • Ability to work in person Tue-Thu in the SF office. A hybrid schedule is currently offered and is subject to team needs.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to projects through all phases of design and construction under the guidance of more senior staff
  • Prepare design studies, presentations, and construction documents
  • Develop design and technical solutions for assigned portions of a project
  • Support permitting and construction administration activities
  • Demonstrate increasing technical proficiency, sound judgment, and attention to detail
  • Contribute to a collaborative studio environment and MWA's commitment to design excellence
