The Designer – Wrangler Women’s reports to the Head Designer and plays a key role in shaping and executing compelling product stories that bring the Wrangler brand to life. This role owns a defined category or capsule from concept through pre-production, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to deliver trend-right, consumer-focused, and brand-authentic product. The Designer contributes to concept development across color, print, fabric, trim, and wash, while supporting the broader design vision and go-to-market strategy. This role requires a strong foundation in design, a clear understanding of process and GTM milestones, and the ability to lead workstreams that bring innovative ideas to life. The Designer also contributes to building team capability and fostering a collaborative, high-performing design culture.

Requirements

  • Design Expertise & Product Excellence – Strong ability to design and deliver best-in-class garments with a deep understanding of construction, fit, and finishing.
  • Creative & Technical Proficiency – Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), flat sketching, and building tech packs.
  • Material & Wash Knowledge – Strong knowledge of sourcing fabrics and trims, with a solid understanding of garment finishing and wash development .
  • Ownership & Problem Solving – Takes ownership of category and workstreams with the ability to problem solve, think creatively, and maintain a high level of detail and quality.
  • Collaboration & Influence – Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and work cross-functionally with Design, Merchandising, Technical Design, and overseas partners. Acts as a positive team player and influencer.
  • Communication & Storytelling – Confident presenter with strong verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate design vision and concepts.
  • Organization & Agility – Highly organized with strong multi-tasking capabilities; able to prioritize, adapt, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tools & Systems – Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Bachelor’s degree in apparel design, art, graphics or equivalent combination of experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in apparel design, with at least 1-2 years managing people.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in denim design, including construction, fabric development, and wash, is strongly preferred; familiarity with heritage and western denim is a plus.
  • Familiarity with V-Stitcher/3D design is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Brand & Creative Execution – Translate Wrangler’s brand vision and DNA into compelling, on-brand product. Drive innovative, trend-right concepts across color, print, fabric, trim, and wash that align with the seasonal direction and merchandising brief.
  • Category Ownership – Own a category or capsule from concept through pre-production, ensuring strong creative vision, product integrity, and alignment to business goals.
  • Market & Trend Insight – Stay connected to the market through research and competitive analysis. Apply insights, hindsight, and emerging trends to identify new opportunities and white space.
  • Product Development & Execution – Partner with Product Development, Technical Design, and overseas teams to review prototypes, refine construction, fabrics, trims, and wash, and ensure product meets cost, quality, and timeline targets.
  • Fit & Construction Excellence – Collaborate with Technical Design to deliver best-in-class fit and cost-efficient construction solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with Merchandising and cross-functional partners to align on product strategy, drive line evolution, and execute against the go-to-market vision.
  • Presentation & Communication – Present seasonal concepts and product direction at key milestones. Develop and maintain clear, compelling design boards, decks, and cad sheets.
  • Team Leadership & Culture – Act as a positive influencer, supporting and mentoring junior designers while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
  • GTM Execution & Accountability – Manage workstreams against the go-to-market calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are executed with accuracy and efficiency.
