About The Position

Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced CAD Operator/Designer to join their Water Wastewater and Utilities team in Sarasota. This role involves creating civil construction documents for wastewater lift stations, pump stations, pipelines, and utility work using Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit. The position requires developing and quality-checking technical drawings and plans of substantial complexity, potentially performing multifaceted calculations, and maintaining the drawing database. The individual will work with minimal supervision, possess knowledge of engineering principles, suggest design changes, and may supervise and train CAD staff. Coordination of work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control is essential, along with developing familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
• Ability to work independently and with a team

Responsibilities

• Utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit to create civil construction documents for wastewater lift stations, pump stations, pipelines and utility work.

• Perform some multifaceted calculations.
