About The Position

The MDP Designer 3 is an experienced design role responsible for creating / maintaining part logic used in manufacturing customer-specific units. This position uses proprietary Trane Technologies software that applies Boolean logic to drive Bill Of Materials. The role also includes reviewing work for accuracy, following drafting standards, supporting portions of larger projects, and collaborating with a technical team to deliver high-quality, customer-focused designs. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of computer-aided design and drafting principles
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, drawings, and schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Exposure to Boolean logic, rules-based modeling, or programming concepts
  • Computer science coursework or programming experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel formulas

Responsibilities

  • Use proprietary Trane Technologies software
  • Apply Boolean logic and established design rules to configure product designs accurately
  • Interpret engineering instructions, drawings, schematics, and related documentation
  • Produce design documentation and product lifecycle management systems
  • Review designs and orders for accuracy before release to manufacturing
  • Follow established drafting standards, design practices, and company procedures
  • Support portions of larger design projects and complete assigned tasks on time
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to deliver quality solutions
  • Continue building technical knowledge through training and development opportunities
  • Travel occasionally, as needed, to support products or training
