About The Position

The ideal candidate for a Designer III would be able to do the following: Create and maintain parts, assemblies, and production drawings in SolidWorks in support of NPD programs and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Translate product requirements into detailed design solutions that meet performance, cost, timing and quality targets. Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) with an understanding of downstream impacts, ensuring compliance with engineering standards. Function as an integrated member of the Design Team, following the guidance of senior members of the team and Engineers. Prepare top-level CAD models for, and lead, cross-functional design reviews and virtual builds. Perform basic design checks including: interference checks, clearance checks, and motion studies (as applicable). Own drawing quality and adherence to GD&T and company/industry standards. Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, and Supply Chain to support DFM/A and cost optimization efforts. Maintain and manage BOM structures with high accuracy. Contribute to design standards, libraries, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and drafting
  • Proficiency in computer-aided drafting techniques and standard engineering practices, with the capacity to suggest best-practice improvements
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D CAD)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication and injection molding
  • Solid engineering judgment and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and meet target dates
  • Effective communication across technical and non-technical teams
  • High attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering-related field is a plus
  • PDM experience is a plus
