About The Position

Fieldstone A&E is seeking a Designer II to produce high-quality construction documentation using CAD/BIM software. This role involves working in partnership with Client Managers, Architects, Engineers, and CAD Technicians, ensuring projects adhere to schedules and standards. The Designer will also mentor junior team members on architectural design, technical software, and construction techniques. Requirements

  • Knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction techniques, construction documents, and CAD concepts.
  • Knowledge of building codes.
  • CAD/BIM drafting skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Consistent ability to successfully meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • B.S. in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design or Construction related field or significant experience in a professional environment drafting residential and/or commercial construction documentation.
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • AutoCAD Architecture, Revit or Sapphire Build required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of 3D Modeling software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign graphic software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex Architecture and Engineering construction drawings for residential and commercial projects utilizing AutoCAD Architecture, and/or REVIT.
  • Performs thorough self-review of work before submitting to supervisor.
  • Maintain regular communication with Project Management team regarding project status.
  • Consistently apply Fieldstone’s Quality Control procedures and takes ownership of their work.
  • Maintain FAE standards for file and folder management (including submittments, RFIs and other project records both electronic and paper).
  • Comply with Fieldstone and client-specific standards (CAD, File Management, etc.).
  • Participate in occasional team meetings to help resolve project issues such as coordination, scheduling, and technical concerns.
  • Document time and expenses using Fieldstone’s business management system.
  • Foster a culture of external and internal client service.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and codes of professional conduct.
  • Develop professional and leadership skills within firm.
  • Comply with laws and regulations governing the practice of architecture.
  • Participate in community activities that may provide opportunities or design of facilities that reflect community needs.
  • Understand implications of project delivery technologies.
  • Participate in professional development activities that offer exchanges with other design professionals.
  • Understand implications of policies and procedures to ensure supervision of design work by architect in responsible charge/control.
  • Maintain positive work environment within firm that facilitates cooperation, teamwork, and staff morale.
  • Develop and maintain effective and productive relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Prepare diagrams illustrating spatial relationships and functional adjacencies as required.
  • Assist in performing building code analysis.
  • Assist in coordination of building components and systems.
  • Prepare design alternatives for client review as required.
  • Communicate design ideas to the internal project team as required.
  • Prepare submittals for regulatory approval.
