At our Burnaby facility, we provide pump-related services and products, including field engineering support, hydraulic/mechanical design and analysis, pump repairs, performance testing, retrofitted/upgraded pumps, duplicate/replacement pumps, pump packages, and spare parts. Our on-site facility includes 5,600 m^2 of covered manufacturing space, a machine shop, a repair/assembly area, and two pump test sites with power capabilities up to 15,000 HP with 50/60 hertz speed. As a member of our Engineering Department, you will assist at a junior level in the design and order processing of centrifugal pumps, components, and equipment. This includes preparing design layouts, interpreting design requirements, performing calculations, creating and modifying drawings, creating Bills of Materials (BOM), and generating other engineering-related documentation in accordance with customer specifications and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Design Technology, including courses such as mechanical design, hydraulics, computer-aided drafting (2D/3D), etc.
  • One to two years of experience in a design and manufacturing environment using techniques applicable to product design and order processing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP and Teamcenter experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering drawings using CAD programs (Inventor, AutoCAD, Siemens NX & Medusa) to enable the complete manufacturing of pump products.
  • Provide engineering drawing control using product lifecycle management software (Teamcenter).
  • Prepare Bills of Materials within the ERP system (SAP).
  • Contact suppliers and other departments regarding the coordination of design work and clarification of requirements.
  • Work from detailed design requirements laid down by others in the form of notes, layouts, and verbal instruction.
  • Perform stress analysis.
  • Assign and check the work of others.
  • Prepare design reports or notes.
  • Handle special engineering tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Support, cooperate with, and participate in the company-wide EHS Management System, including following all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
