The rod and refining plant in El Paso, Texas, is a key contributor to our ranking as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of continuous cast copper rod. The refinery has the potential to operate at an annual production capacity of about 900 million pounds of copper cathode. The refinery also produces nickel carbonate, copper telluride and autoclaved slimes material containing gold, silver, platinum and palladium. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED + four (4) years of experience in engineering design/drafting OR Completion of a two (2) year trade/technical school program + two (2) years of experience in engineering design/drafting OR Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design or related field + two (2) years of experience in engineering design/drafting
  • Knowledge of conventional drafting techniques, including terminology, symbols, legends, and shading
  • Ability to create and read engineering drawings or blueprints
  • Skilled in using CAD hardware and software
  • Knowledge of applicable computer hardware and software
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to follow safety practices and recognize hazards
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
  • Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Solidworks, AutoCad, Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Drafting.
  • Engineering design codes.
  • Familiar in industrial work environment.
  • Familiar with project management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and drawing services to support operations or engineering units at the assigned site.
  • Work from notes, sketches, verbal instructions, and specifications to prepare working plans, layouts, and detailed drawings.
  • Review designs to resolve incomplete details and ensure adherence to engineering principles and company standards.
  • Create and verify documentation including drawings and parts lists using CAD and other tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain consistency and accuracy, and perform other duties as required.
