About The Position

As a Designer Associate at Oncor, you’ll develop designs and prepare estimates to ensure quality construction of electric distribution system additions, expansions, and modifications in accordance with all Company policies and accepted standards to meet the needs of new and existing customers within budgetary guidelines. This role will also provide project management services for these projects from inception through completion. Training for this role and placement will be within this service market territory. This role will be fully on-site based out of our Stanton Service Center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • 2 or more years of experience with organizational and program/project management skills is required.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and other work groups.
  • Ability to learn business and design principles.
  • Ability to learn design and construction specifications, standards, policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to manage projects as assigned.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to ensure that assignments are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to establish personal courses of action and sequence/prioritize tasks and work assignments.
  • Basic understanding of issues/factors relevant to determining solutions.
  • Willingness to determine solutions.
  • Successfully complete all required safety training and incorporate safety as an aspect of all design work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop designs and prepare estimates for electric distribution system additions, expansions, and modifications.
  • Provide project management services for projects from inception through completion.
  • Ensure quality construction in accordance with Company policies and accepted standards.
  • Meet the needs of new and existing customers within budgetary guidelines.
  • Incorporate safety as an aspect in the design and operation of facilities to ensure personnel and public safety.
  • Follow projects through the construction process to ensure timely completion and accurate posting of Distribution Information System (DIS) data and financial records.
  • Effectively manage assigned projects while maintaining work product reliability and volume.
  • Actively participate in personal developmental planning and training to expand knowledge and opportunities.
  • Assist in storm restoration efforts.
