About The Position

O14 Office Services is looking for a Designer 3 with prompt, predictable and reliable work attendance. Must have the ability to work well with others throughout the company and be able to coach and mentor Designers in the Label Plate Section. The successful candidate should have an extensive background utilizing QuarkXPress designing label plates for submarines and aircraft carriers. This position requires an extensive amount of time sitting at work station while performing very tedious tasks that require strong attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer to contribute to the development of Designers and help improve processes and efficiencies in the Label Plate Section.

Requirements

Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience
NNS Apprentice School graduate (may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree)
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate (may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree)
High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience (may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree)
High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience (may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree)
Prompt, predictable and reliable work attendance
Ability to work well with others throughout the company
Extensive background utilizing QuarkXPress
Extensive amount of time sitting at work station
Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM, NX, or CATIA.
Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Coach and mentor Designers in the Label Plate Section.
Design label plates for submarines and aircraft carriers using QuarkXPress.
Perform tedious tasks requiring strong attention to detail.
Contribute to the development of Designers.
Help improve processes and efficiencies in the Label Plate Section.
