About The Position

The Designated Coordinator is responsible for supervising services for people with disabilities across one or more specific programs and locations, typically for one to four consumers. This role involves direct care and support services, managing staffing, financial aspects, physical plant, and consumer and community relations. The coordinator's schedule is flexible to allow for direct supervision across all hours and shifts, and they must be available at all times for emergencies, with additional non-scheduled hours potentially required. As a supervisor, the Designated Coordinator oversees Assistant Designated Coordinators, Direct Care Staff, and other service personnel. The primary responsibility is to protect and promote the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals served. This is an hourly, full-time position, with hours determined by the needs of consumers and the home.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Qualify with one of the following education and experience combinations: 4 year degree and 1 year full-time equivalent (FTE) direct care; OR 2 year degree and 2 years FTE direct care; OR Accredited postsecondary diploma and 3 years FTE direct care.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (training provided).
  • Crisis intervention training (training provided).
  • Skilled in written and oral communication, community relations and service development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of behavior management principles, designated development, and monitoring techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability in areas of leadership, personnel, employee training, and public relations.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the Company’s insurance carrier.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable Federal and State regulations.
  • Eligible as determined by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Department of Human Services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a flexible schedule to allow for direct supervision of services during all hours and all shifts.
  • Be available at all hours to respond in the event of an emergency.
  • Supervise Assistant Designated Coordinators, Direct Care Staff, and other service personnel assigned.
  • Protect and promote the health, safety, and well-being of the people served.
