About The Position

The Designated Coordinator is responsible for supervising services for individuals with disabilities across one or more specific programs and locations, typically overseeing one to four consumers. This role involves direct care and support services, staffing, financial management, physical plant oversight, and consumer and community relations. The position requires flexibility to supervise services across all hours and shifts, with availability to respond to emergencies at all times. As a supervisor, the Designated Coordinator is responsible for overseeing Assistant Designated Coordinators, Direct Care Staff, and other service personnel. A primary responsibility is to protect and promote the health, safety, and well-being of the people served. This is an hourly, full-time position, with hours determined by the needs of the consumers and the home.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred and 18 years of age older
  • One year serving people with developmental disabilities
  • CPR/First Aid (provided)
  • Crisis intervention training (provided)
  • Skilled in written and oral communication, community relations and service development
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of behavior management principles, designated development, and monitoring techniques
  • Demonstrated ability in areas of leadership, personnel, employee training, and public relations
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets insurability requirements as defined by the Company’s insurance carrier
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable Federal and State regulations
  • Eligible as determined by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Department of Human Services
  • Alternatively, a 4-year degree and 1 year FTE direct care
  • Alternatively, a 2-year degree and 2 years FTE direct care
  • Alternatively, a Diploma (accredited postsecondary) and 3 years FTE direct care

Responsibilities

  • Supervise services for people with disabilities within one or more specific programs
  • Supervise services for one to four consumers and may supervise several locations
  • Responsible for direct care and support services for consumers in their assigned designated(s) staffing, financial management, physical plant, and consumer and community relations
  • Remain flexible to allow for direct supervision of services during all hours and all shifts
  • Be available at all hours to respond in the event of an emergency
  • Supervise Assistant Designated Coordinators, Direct Care Staff, and other service personnel assigned
  • Protect and promote the health, safety, and well-being of the people served
