Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older, or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children
  • An associate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older, or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children
  • A diploma in a field related to human services, education, or health from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children
  • A minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities AND four years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications identified in clauses (1) to (3) of the MN statutes for 245D
  • 2+ years of direct staff management in a health/human services setting (required)
  • At least one year of full-time experience in direct care and 50 hours of relevant training (required)
  • Experience with Minnesota 245D Designated Coordinator qualifications
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse team while upholding person-centered and professional standards
  • Proficient with technology and documentation
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and motivate a diverse team while upholding person-centered and professional standards
  • Supervise daily operations and compliance in accordance with Minnesota Statute 245D for assigned program sites
  • Promote and protect the health and safety of persons served in accordance with Minnesota Statute 245D
  • Provide training, support, and guidance for Direct Support Professionals following Minnesota Statute 245D and all applicable employment laws and vulnerable adult protections
  • Guide teams to effectively interact with and among the persons served, staff, guardians, case managers, administrative team, community, and families of persons served
