About The Position

APPLE INC has the following available in Seattle, Washington. Design verification of complex System on a Chip (SOCs) hardware for consumer products. Work with design and micro architecture teams to understand the functional and performance goals of the System-on-a-Chip (SOC) design. Study and review specifications of hardware blocks and industry standard interfaces to develop a robust verification plan. Define Design Verification (DV) testbench methodology, develop test attributes, generate verification coverage, and code directed and random tests in SystemVerilog, C, and assembly language to ensure functional correctness of the design. Run regressions, manage bug tracking, and analyze design performance to verify that it meets the product requirements as specified by the architecture teams. Work and manage deliverables to align with project goals and support cross-functional engineering efforts like power analysis, emulation, silicon validation and product bring-up. Write design assertions and develop testbenches in SystemVerilog assertion language. Run chip and hardware simulations on computer-aided design (CAD) software. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 - $210,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Using digital design principles, computer architecture, CPU/GPU/SoC design’s micro-architectures and a system level understanding of hardware functionality.
  • Translating design specification into a verification test plan including properties capturing design behaviors.
  • Using Verilog to understand and debug digital designs and understanding complex hardware design’s micro-architecture and specification to triage failures in the verification environment.
  • Utilizing System Verilog to implement verification test benches that can verify the functionality and performance of digital hardware designs in a SoC, CPU, and GPU.
  • Utilizing a scripting language including Python for stimulus and test creation, regression analysis and coverage collection to develop automation and data processing flows.
  • Utilizing verification tools including Indago, Xcelium, JasperGold, VC Formal, or Questa Formal to compile the verification and prove the design properties.
  • Using formal verification techniques including property verification, model checking, logical equivalence checking etc.
  • Running regressions, managing bug tracking, and analyzing design performance to verify that it meets the product requirements.
  • Using C, C++ or any programming language to create and debug behavioral reference models for digital hardware.
