The mission we offer you: As a Design Technician, you will contribute to the design, development and implementation of technical solutions aimed at improving our equipment, processes and manufacturing facilities. In collaboration with engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will participate in projects from ideation to implementation by leveraging your expertise in design, 3D modeling and tooling development.

Requirements

  • A DEC in mechanical engineering or equivalent training.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing design.
  • A good command of CAD software (SolidWorks, OnShape, AutoCAD or equivalent).
  • Experience in 3D modeling and the production of technical drawings.
  • A functional command of English in order to consult technical documentation, use certain specialized tools and communicate with English-speaking suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Rigour, autonomy and an excellent team spirit.
  • A hands-on approach, oriented towards solutions and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Design and model equipment, components, tooling and manufacturing layouts using CAD software.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of technical solutions with engineers.
  • Contribute to engineering projects, from design to implementation of solutions.
  • Carry out field surveys in order to fully understand operational needs and develop adapted solutions.
  • Develop and optimize tooling, jigs and equipment by integrating the principles of manufacturability, safety and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, drawings, models and bills of materials.
  • Support manufacturing, installation, commissioning and validation activities.
  • Participate in the integration of new design and digitization technologies.
