About The Position

At K2, we leverage culture and insights to bring brands to life in the right contexts. We create and produce compelling experiences for luxury clients of all kinds. With multiple offices spanning Asia, Europe and America, K2 is uniquely positioned to offer a global approach to managing brand experiential strategies, from the concept stage to the detailed execution phase. We are looking for a Design Team Intern to join our NY location and help bring these experiences to life across the U.S. The Design Team Intern is responsible for assisting the designers and Head of Design with multiple event and production design projects through all stages of the design process including assisting with design development phases, renders and drawings, deck creation, sourcing materials and design elements, scheduling, and more. This individual will work closely within the K2 America design and production team reporting to the Head of Design. This individual must be creative and technical with good time management skills and experience working in a spatial design field.

Requirements

• Student or recent graduate with experience in interior designer, production design or architecture and Bachelor/ Master degree from an accredited school.
• NYC based and able to to come into our Soho office when need
• The ideal candidate is passionate about design, culture & art and has a well rounded design lens.
• Detail oriented, organized, and a team player.
• Takes initiative and has the ability to work under tight timelines.
• Exceptional communication skills including both verbal and visual means of communication.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and realistic rendering ability using software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Enscape or similar as well as the Adobe Creative Suite

Responsibilities

• Assist with deck creation for project and pitches
• Assist in creating 3D models, renderings and visuals that clearly and accurately communicate designs to clients.
• Technical design and drafting skills with general knowledge and understanding of fabrication techniques and materials
• Ability to produce a set of construction drawings for fabrication.
• Time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at once.
• Material research and sample board display creation
• Sourcing and ordering design elements such as materials and furniture
