Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Strong Powertrain technical fundamentals, particularly for trucks and SUVs (4+ years of experience managing complex multi-disciplinary engineering projects, with evidence of success bringing programs to life from concept to production.
  • Experience with common project/ program management tools such as Gantt charts.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment with colleagues from purchasing, manufacturing, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including accountability, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical thinking, succinct communication and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with design release of Powertrain components and systems.
  • Experience with internal combustion engine controls and calibration.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the full system engineering execution for the Harvester gasoline Range Extender system underpinning the Scout Traveler SUV and Terra pickup, including the inverter/ generator, engine assembly, fuel systems, air induction, and exhaust subsystems.
  • Ensure that peer DREs and development/ validation engineers release work products on-time by maintaining schedule and communicating critical milestones.
  • Identify risks and escalate to leadership where appropriate to raise awareness and drive action.
  • Track and report Range Extender system imperatives including system cost, mass, and investment.
  • Lead critical action plans for identified technical and timing related program risks, and lead recovery plan efforts across multiple cross-functional teams where appropriate.
