The Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking a Design Specialist 2 to perform work on-site daily at DAS’s office space. This role involves preparing original design work for state projects, reviewing work performed by engineers, and determining interior space and facility needs. The position requires meeting with various stakeholders, preparing space layouts and drawings using CADD software, and coordinating with other department offices. The Design Specialist 2 will also inspect projects, ensure compliance with codes and regulations, and act as a coordinator for the design segment of projects. This includes developing and implementing building improvement and planning activities, counseling personnel on design practices, and assisting in the development of planning and design standards. The role also involves advising state entities on relocation procedures, researching materials, and acting as a liaison with state agencies and other building occupants. The Design Specialist 2 will coordinate with building management staff, review space concerns, and prepare various planning and design reports, including project status reports and correspondence.
