About The Position

Scout Motors is looking to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace. The Design Release Engineer will serve as the main contact point between hardware DREs, Function Owners, and suppliers. This role will coordinate software release activities alongside calibration teams, lead troubleshooting for hardware and software interface issues, and ensure timely hardware support for software milestones. The engineer will also identify risks and escalate them to leadership for awareness and action. This position is based in Novi, Michigan, requiring 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel for company events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (required)
  • Proven experience coordinating SW release across multiple controllers and suppliers (required)
  • 4+ years of experience managing complex multi-disciplinary engineering projects, with evidence of success bringing programs to life from concept to production (required)
  • Experience with common project/ program management tools (required)
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment with colleagues from purchasing, manufacturing, etc. (required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills including accountability, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical thinking, succinct communication and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships. (required)
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with design release of Powertrain components and systems.
  • Experience with internal combustion engine controls and calibration

Responsibilities
