Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in quality engineering, design review, or manufacturing within the aerospace, aviation, or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industries.
  • Engineering Knowledge: Understand mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in GD&T
  • Compliance: Working knowledge of AS9001 or ISO 9001
  • Strong Collaboration & Communication: Ability to interface effectively with many internal and external groups
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical) or a related technical field.
  • US Person Required.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Six Sigma or LEAN methodology
  • Proficiency in IPC soldering/assembly standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rigorous quality reviews of mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Perform systematic process optimization.
  • Critically review mechanical blueprints for adherence to ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) and electrical schematics for compliance with IPC-A-610/WHMA-A-620 standards.
  • Inspect multi-layer PCBs, wiring harnesses, and avionics layouts for correct creepage, clearance, thermal relief, and wire gauge sizing.
  • Act as the final quality gate for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), reviewing modified drawings for secondary risks.
  • Analyze the handoff between design engineering and the manufacturing floor to streamline and accelerate the drawing release workflow.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis when recurring drawing errors or manufacturing defects escape to the production line.
  • Create and maintain robust drawing review checklists and Standard Operating Procedures to institutionalize tribal knowledge and prevent "repeat offender" mistakes.
  • Ensure all design control and manufacturing processes comply with AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Participate in internal audits to ensure the effective implementation of Quality Management System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Give feedback and address Quality related concerns at the inception stage of an Engineering Change Request.
  • Assist in the identification and containment of products affected by Engineering Change Notice dispositions.
