About The Position

Cushing Terrell is seeking a Design Professional with 4 to 8 years of architectural experience to join our integrated architecture and engineering team in Seattle, Washington. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on mixed-use and commercial projects. The role is built for architecture professionals with working knowledge of architectural graphics, building systems, and building codes who want an active role in shaping design and technical outcomes on every project. Working alongside architects and engineers, you will help develop design concepts, translate ideas into buildable solutions, and produce construction documents in Revit. You will create complete, code-compliant documentation for mixed-use and commercial buildings, with experience across all phases of a project. We are looking for someone who brings creativity, curiosity, and a drive to push ideas further. At Cushing Terrell, you will collaborate across disciplines and offices, take on meaningful responsibility early, and continue building both your design voice and technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (NAAB accredited Preferred)
  • 4+ years of progressive professional architectural experience
  • Working knowledge of construction materials, standards, and building codes
  • Proficiency in Revit, plus working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent record of meeting deadlines
  • A collaborative approach grounded in integrity, trust, and commitment to the team

Nice To Haves

  • Current architectural license
  • LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Associate or LEED AP credential, or a demonstrated passion for sustainable design
  • Experience with Bluebeam

Responsibilities

  • Develop complete construction document sets in Revit, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, for mixed-use and commercial projects
  • Research and resolve technical detailing of building systems using appropriate references and code resources
  • Review design and construction documents for technical integrity, code compliance, and life safety requirements
  • Coordinate with specifications staff, engineers, and other specialists to resolve technical issues and keep documents accurate and complete
  • Contribute to site development, plan layout, materials selection, and construction cost estimates
  • Lead the work of other architectural staff in developing and distributing documents when projects call for it
  • Take on Project Architect duties as projects require, including consultant coordination and client communication
  • Travel domestically as needed to visit clients and project sites
