Design Manager Design - Indirect
About The Position
Builders FirstSource is America’s largest supplier of building materials, value-added components, and building services to the professional market. The Design Manager is responsible for the work originated and generated by personnel within the Design department. This role manages employees who use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks. The Design Manager also communicates with sales, building designers, and customers to obtain necessary information for timely completion and reviews design work completed by designers prior to production. Management responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 4-6 years of directly related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous managerial experience required.
Responsibilities
- Manage the work of employees using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment.
- Communicate with sales, building designers, and customers to obtain information for timely completion.
- Review design work completed by designers prior to production.
- Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
