Design Manager - Federal Facilities & Building Systems
About The Position
GoldenWolf is seeking a Design Manager to support facility modernization, building systems integration, cybersecurity compliance, and technical project coordination at Naval Medical Center San Diego and associated military installations. This position serves as a key technical resource supporting building automation systems, life-safety systems, facility control systems, cybersecurity compliance activities, RMF documentation, and engineering project coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with government personnel, contractors, facility managers, and technical stakeholders to ensure facility systems remain operational, secure, and compliant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related discipline; OR Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering or construction experience.
- Experience supporting facility systems, engineering projects, or building technologies.
- Ability to obtain CAC credentials and required background investigations.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work in active federal and healthcare facility environments.

Responsibilities
- Support facility control systems and building technologies.
- Manage and review system configurations and technical documentation.
- Coordinate design integration activities across multiple facility systems.
- Support modernization and lifecycle planning initiatives.
- Support Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Support access control systems, fire alarm systems, monitoring systems, and elevator control systems.
- Coordinate system improvements and operational requirements.
- Assist with system troubleshooting and technical reviews.
- Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities.
- Assist with Authority to Operate (ATO) compliance efforts.
- Coordinate cybersecurity documentation and system assessments.
- Support Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) development and maintenance.
- Coordinate with government stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
- Attend meetings and perform facility site visits.
- Prepare status reports and technical documentation.
- Support project planning and system implementation activities.
