STV is seeking a Design Manager - Education for the Construction Management group in Los Angeles. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing design activities for Education projects, functioning as the lead design professional in the Design Department. The manager will oversee the district's design process for the Facilities Planning and Development Division, ensuring projects align with functional program, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements. This includes managing multiple projects through interaction with architects, consultants, and district personnel from conception to final approval, and overseeing the building design process to ensure compliance with standards and guidelines. The position also involves establishing processes for selecting architectural firms, providing clear direction to architects, and implementing an effective design review process to ensure projects meet goals, provide maximum value, and are appropriate for the district's needs. The role requires timely decision-making, thorough documentation, review of design changes, and participation in community relations. Additionally, the Design Manager will develop continuing education opportunities, coordinate project activities with other departments, and perform other assigned duties.
