About The Position

We're looking for an experienced Design Lead to handle the day-to-day design work for Cambium's marketing team. This is a full-time position, and 100% of this person's time is spent on design and project management for Cambium marketing. The Design Lead reports directly to the Marketing Director. This role will be hands-on and self-directed. They will take a request, ask the right questions, produce the finished work, execute revisions based on feedback, and deliver it on time without needing constant direction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of design experience working for a professional design agency or in-house marketing department where one person handles many kinds of design work
  • Proven ability to use the full range of design tools needed to produce strong presentations, event booths, and the printed materials that go with them (for example, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with content management systems for websites and digital platform pages for updates and edits
  • Experience shooting and editing photos and video
  • Experience working with printers and vendors to produce signs, displays, and branded items
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage many requests at once and keep files in order
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain design choices in plain terms
  • Ongoing study of design trends and best practices, and dedicated to pushing our brand image forward
  • U.S. citizenship required

  • Experience designing for technical, manufacturing, defense, or aerospace companies
  • Experience with social media and content creation
  • Experience designing trade show booths from start to finish
  • A portfolio that shows a wide range of work across presentations, events, print, web, photo, and video

Responsibilities

  • Find, license, and create images, graphics, and illustrations for marketing materials.
  • Design and build presentations for investors, customers, partners, and company leaders.
  • Design event booths, banners, displays, handouts, and other trade show and event materials.
  • Design, update, and maintain versions of company brochures, product sheets, reports, and other documents.
  • Make regular changes to the company website, including new pages, text, images, and news.
  • Organize and maintain the company's library of approved logos, photos, templates, and videos.
  • Come up with ideas for photos and videos, shoot them, and edit them for various platforms.
  • Design signs, business cards, and branded giveaway items, and work with printers and vendors for production.
  • Ensure all produced materials follow brand guidelines for logos, colors, fonts, and tone.
