About The Position

We’re seeking a Design Lead with a proven ability to lead UX projects, manage project scope, and drive results. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, strategic thinking, storytelling, and creative problem-solving skills. Additionally, experience in client and people management is essential for success in this role. As a Design Lead, you will be responsible for having a strong understanding of design foundations within user experience, interaction, and visual design. You will establish and articulate the design strategy to the internal team to ensure work is aligned with business goals, and have an expert understanding of design methods, actively seeking new ones to increase efficiency. The role involves leading the creation of prototypes and documentation for developers, establishing desired customer experience outcomes rooted in user journeys, and developing creative solutions for challenges with broader business impact. You will leverage data, research, and analytics to inform complex decisions, oversee client communications, navigate complex relationships, and proactively strengthen client partnerships. Responsibilities also include overseeing project management activities, identifying opportunities to expand client partnerships, and socializing the scope of work to align stakeholders. Requirements

  • Proven 5 years full-time industry experience as a UX designer, with at least 1 year in a people manager role
  • Portfolio we can access
  • Must have a minimum 3-hour overlap with Toronto EDT timezone

Responsibilities

  • Have a strong understanding of design foundations within user experience, interaction, and visual design
  • Establish and articulate the design strategy to the internal team, to ensure work is aligned with business goals
  • Have an expert understanding of the design methods used to support in the design process, and actively seek new methods to increase our efficiency and outputs
  • Lead the creation of prototypes
  • Lead the creation of documentation for developers
  • Establish desired customer experience outcomes that are rooted in the user journey and resonate with a user's pain points
  • Develop creative solutions for challenges that have a broader business impact
  • Leverage data, research, and analytics to inform complex, high-impact decisions
  • Oversee regular client communications, ensuring design or research decisions are expressed clearly and effectively to clients
  • Navigate complex relationships and resolve conflicts with tact and emotional intelligence
  • Proactively develop or strengthen existing partnerships with our clients
  • Oversee project management activities
  • Identify opportunities within existing client relationships to expand our partnership
  • Socialize the scope of work to align stakeholders and team members on workstream goals and expectations
