This role is located in Mirabel and operates on a hybrid model, requiring 3 days per week in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aeronautical or mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years design experience in commercial / business aircraft.
  • Excellent knowledge of aircraft structure and system installation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge in mechanics of material, stress analysis and composite materials.
  • Knowledge in design office (design or stress) of aircraft structures (Airframe).
  • Extensive knowledge in CATIA V5 or similar CAD Software.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be a good teammate.
  • Good command of English language (written and spoken).
  • Upbeat person with excellent communication and social skills, and a high sense of dedication.
  • Willingness to accept responsibilities while acting independently in a fast-paced partner/supplier team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • Being completely bilingual (French and English) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and implement engineering best practices and standardization across teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve design processes, deliverables quality, and coordination efficiency
  • Contribute to process optimization initiatives (tools, workflows, governance)
  • Support implementation of Lean principles
  • Drive lessons learned and continuous feedback loops to enhance future deliverables
  • Improve data quality, reporting, and traceability of engineering deliverables
  • Encourage innovation and digitalization (automation, dashboards, tools)
  • Coordinate activities across structures, systems, stress, and design teams
  • Manage interfaces between components and systems
  • Ensure consistency across design solutions and integration constraints
  • Ensure compliance with client standards, Safety and airworthiness requirements
  • Validate that technical outputs meet performance requirements and certification constraints
  • Define and track engineering milestones and deliverables schedule
  • Ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD) and First Time Right (FTR)
  • Identify risks and support mitigation actions
  • Interface with engineering teams, suppliers, and offshore teams
  • Coordinate resolution of technical issues and dependencies
  • Ensure alignment across all stakeholders
  • Lead and participate in design reviews and technical validation activities
  • Ensure technical accuracy, compliance with requirements, and availability of supporting evidence
