About The Position

A Design Estimator at Pref-Tech is responsible for supporting Sales & Design Professionals (SDP’s) in the construction of estimates for assigned projects based on Preferred Technologies estimation standards. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • At least 2 years of design estimation experience, with preference of those years spent in the general construction and/or specialty trade contracting industries
  • Experience with REVU20, Bluebeam software
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Ability to review and interpret blueprints
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience and confidence with public speaking and presenting to audiences
  • Ability to hold others accountable to completing their assigned tasks, even if they hold positions of greater responsibility
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 software tools
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in general construction and/or specialty trade contracting industries
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 software tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and assume accountability for assigned sales projects and sales tasks.
  • Meet regularly with SDP’s and Project Managers to determine and prioritize the company’s design estimation needs.
  • Be able to present designs to SDP’s, Operations, and to the end user as needed.
  • Go on site visits to determine customer needs, with or without SDP’s.
  • Enter high security areas which may require immediate background checks.
  • Continuously develop sales & design skills & certifications.
