About The Position

The Design Engineering Manager will provide strong leadership and direction to Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineering teams, with a primary focus on lithium-ion power products. This role serves as a key participant in evaluating emerging technologies and identifying opportunities for future product growth and development. The manager will act as the primary technical interface with customers and provide engineering leadership throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include leading technical specification development, requirements definition, verification and validation planning, and engineering resource management. Additionally, the role involves providing technical leadership and support for proposal preparation, evaluation, and bid strategy activities, owning and maintaining engineering processes and procedures, and ensuring engineering projects comply with UEC quality standards and meet or exceed customer expectations. A key aspect of this role is leading the transition of product designs into manufacturing, with particular emphasis on lithium-ion power products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of engineering leadership experience with a proven track record in electromechanical control systems and power systems.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of personnel management experience.
  • Experience in the design and manufacturing of lithium-ion power products.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and bring products successfully from concept through production.
  • Strong customer interface and communication skills.
