About The Position

The Design Engineer is responsible for leading the mechanical design and development of custom, engineered-to-order generator systems. This role serves as the technical lead and design owner for customer-specific solutions, ensuring delivery of high-quality, cost-effective products that meet performance, manufacturability, and customer requirements. Working in a project-driven environment, the Design Engineer collaborates with cross-functional and global teams to translate customer needs into practical, manufacturable designs, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using Creo for 3D CAD modeling and design
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience designing industrial or engineered-to-order products
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring new or transfer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in generator systems, power systems, or industrial equipment design
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and fabrication processes
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, global engineering environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design and CAD development of custom generator sets, enclosures, and related system components
  • Own and manage engineering projects from initial requirements through design release and production support
  • Develop and maintain detailed parametric models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Creo
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to CAD designers and support global engineering resources
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Application Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure alignment and successful project execution
  • Translate customer requirements into engineered solutions that meet technical, cost, and delivery objectives
  • Ensure designs meet standards for performance, quality, and manufacturability
  • Evaluate materials, components, and design approaches to optimize product performance and cost
  • Identify technical risks and implement effective, data-driven solutions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes and custom product development
  • Participate in technical discussions with customers and global engineering teams as needed
