About The Position

Synthetic is building a comprehensive financial management product for software companies, handling everything from contracts and billing to payments and accounting. The product aims to replace fragmented systems like QuickBooks and Stripe, along with numerous spreadsheets and manual workflows, with a unified, visually appealing solution. The company recently secured $10M in funding from investors such as Khosla Ventures and Tobi Lütke. This role is for a Design Engineer to join a 7-person team and be responsible for the look and feel of Synthetic across all platforms. The Design Engineer will work alongside the first designer and report directly to the founder. The role involves responsibilities in brand, marketing, and product design, with the opportunity to ship work that reaches customers within days or hours.

Requirements

Ability to ship own designs in HTML/CSS/TypeScript, not just Figma.
A portfolio showcasing work across brand, marketing, and product.
A pragmatic approach to building fast at an early-stage company.
A severe bullshit allergy.
Work authorization in the US, Canada, or Mexico.

Responsibilities

Define and maintain the visual and auditory brand identity of Synthetic.
Design and build the company website, landing pages, and marketing materials.
Collaborate with engineers to build and refine product features using TypeScript on SvelteKit.
Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints.
Work quickly and efficiently in an early-stage startup environment.
