About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to support our team through a high-volume workload. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who is comfortable moving quickly between detailing, design, modeling, and analysis in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Design Engineer in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment
• Strong proficiency with Inventor (modeling, detailing, drawings, and FEA)
• Prior experience working with steel mills, material handling equipment, or process line equipment
• Ability to perform basic to intermediate engineering calculations
• Experience with equipment detailing, redesigns, and modifications
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

Nice To Haves

• Background in heavy equipment, capital equipment, or custom machinery
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, and fabrication
• Experience supporting fast-paced or backlog-driven engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and detail mechanical components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
• Create accurate drawings for fabrication and manufacturing
• Perform engineering calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) using Inventor
• Support existing projects by updating and correcting designs, fixing parts, and improving legacy models
• Design components and systems related to steel mill equipment, material handling systems, and process lines
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to meet tight schedules
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements
