About The Position

Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products. This role involves producing full manufacturing specification packages, resolving problems at the root cause, and managing engineering changes. The Design Engineer will follow Group standards in areas like QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development, and field testing, ensuring effective global management of released engineering data. The position requires ensuring current and new products meet safety, function, and reliability standards, reducing manufacturing costs through design improvements and collaboration with production, purchasing, and suppliers. Additionally, the role involves investigating and addressing customer complaints, driving component standardization, and staying knowledgeable about machine component advancements and competitor design trends to apply the latest technology effectively.

Requirements

  • Recent Engineering graduate or 1+ years of experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products
  • Produce full manufacturing specification package including Engineering BOM's
  • Resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively, and manage engineering changes
  • Follow Group standards in the areas of QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing
  • Follow Group engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure effective global management of released engineering data
  • Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability
  • Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and through consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers
  • Investigate and address customer complaints in a timely manner
  • Drive standardization of components and sub-assemblies within the product line
  • Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative
