About The Position

Netafim Irrigation India is seeking a Design Engineer to prepare professional irrigation system designs. The work includes preparing maps, bills of materials, component specifications, system costing, drawings, and technical descriptions. The role manages the daily interface between designers, application technicians, and drafting staff, and coordinates with project teams throughout detailed characterization and final design.

The engineer will plan irrigation project components from the pump station and head control unit through to the emitter, applying knowledge of hydraulics and irrigation components such as pumping solutions, filtration assemblies, valves, fittings, and ancillary accessories. The position requires producing complete bills of materials for quotations and creating irrigation system designs using irrigation design software. The engineer should be able to handle several assignments at once and deliver quality work under tight schedules and demanding conditions.

Requirements

• Degree in B.Tech/M.Tech Agricultural Engineering or an engineering discipline with specialization in agricultural studies.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–5 years of hands-on experience in irrigation system design or equivalent engineering practices.
• Knowledge of irrigation system design and hydraulics.
• Proficiency in irrigation design software such as IrriCAD or WCADI.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of 2D AutoCAD, Google Earth, MapSource, and QGIS.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and control.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to work as a team player and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare irrigation system designs, maps, drawings, technical descriptions, component specifications, system costing, and bills of materials.
• Develop detailed plans for irrigation project components from the pump station/head control unit to the emitter.
• Prepare complete bills of materials required for quotations for irrigation designs.
• Coordinate with designers, application technicians, draftsmen, and project implementation teams from detailed characterization through final design.
• Collect and understand project data, produce final irrigation design drawings, and prepare designs using irrigation design software.
• Manage multiple assignments and deliver high-quality work under tight schedules and demanding conditions.
