Genesis Design Center - Sr. Design Engineer
About The Position
Genesis Design Center is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team. This role involves designing and engineering body structures and advanced packaging for concept programs. The engineer will conduct feasibility studies based on US Designs, foster communication between the Korean Engineering Department and the US Design Team, and find solutions to meet production program engineering requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating with the Studio to complete feasibility studies for interior trim and seating, creating Design Guides, and resolving design feasibility issues for all studio programs. The role also involves analyzing concepts through 3D digital simulation and physical prototypes, staying aware of new technologies and structures for design proposals, and researching new developments in platforms, engineering, and emerging technology that could influence future car designs. Proficiency in CATIA V5 for generating surface data is required, and candidates will participate in a CATIA V5 evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering
- 5+ years experience working in Automotive Engineering
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Proficient in CATIA V5 generating surface data

Responsibilities
- Design and engineering body structure, advanced packaging for concept programs.
- Understand the requirements and create feasibility studies based on the US Designs.
- Foster communication between the Engineering Department in Korea and the US Design Team.

- Coordinated with the Studio, completing feasibility studies for interior trim and seating.
- Create Design Guides for the Studio considering design needs and package requirements.
- Resolve design feasibility issues alongside the designers for all studio programs.
- Analyze concepts through both 3D digital simulation and physical prototypes.
- Study and be aware of New Technologies/Structures that could be implemented into Design proposals.
- Research new developments in: Platform, Engineering & Emerging Technology that could influence the Design of future cars.
- Proficient in CATIA V5 generating surface data.
