About The Position

The Design Engineer will support various teams by delivering moderately complex industrial compressor solutions that meet customer needs. Services provided shall conform to company specifications and be completed in accordance with project timelines. The engineer shall have proficient knowledge in industrial air compressor systems. Weekly work activities will be directed by the manager or senior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, BSME preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant mechanical and electrical system design integration.
  • Proficient experience specifying mechanical, electrical, communication solutions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to job sites.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling expertise, large assembly creation and development of detailed drawings (CREO/Windchill and Microstation experience preferred)
  • Proficient knowledge in fabrication and assembly procedures, tools, and techniques.
  • Proficient understanding with electrical controls/components, 4-20mA signals, 480VAC power wiring, 120VAC control, 24VDC control, and HMIs controls.
  • Able to perform hands on field mechanical and electrical system trouble shooting.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, rapid change environment; multi-task projects.
  • Great communication and organizational skills with a focus on customer care.

Responsibilities

  • Define product scope via sales order, rough sketches, or verbal instructions.
  • Create component and 3D system models based on customer requirements.
  • Design and maintain product assembly drawings, electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, and test documents across various product lines; new and sustaining.
  • Identify and maintain detailed BOMs and engineering validation documentation.
  • Support multi-stage design release process, submittments, and production release.
  • Assist with product design activities for key customer programs and industrial sales.
  • Provide customer facing project management as defined by sales order timelines.
  • Lead many projects concurrently; including ownership of sustaining projects and support for R&D development.
  • Act as department ambassador supporting engineering best practices.
  • Support daily production and commissioning activities.
  • Assist with technical requests for customer programs, complex projects, field support.
  • Define components to support product modifications, add-ons, retro kits, sequencers.
  • Provide support for sales orders, cost estimates, design consultation, and installations.
  • Define alternate part options to assist with part shortages or cost savings initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members and supporting departments.
