The Design Engineer is responsible for designing product, material specifications, design documentation and may be involved in developing new products for any SRP division. Must be familiar with design procedures and a variety of manufacturing processes such as plastic molding and metal fabrication. Ability to design using computer aided, CAD, 3D, preferred Solidworks. Assures compliance with design and manufacturing requirements, federal guidelines and customer requirements. Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables and supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems. May coordinate the work of designers and other technical support personnel. This position requires initiative; will work independently and the associate must possess a strong desire to learn. This engineering position could include project management and must have ability to perform assigned task with minimum direction. This position requires professional and prudent communications both internally and externally working in a team environment with a diverse group of associates, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. Job may require light traveling to visit sites, overtime and a flexible schedule, reporting early and working late including weekends from time to time. After a training period the position may be a hybrid position of office and remote for standard work weeks.
