About The Position

Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products. This role involves producing full manufacturing specification packages, including Engineering BOMs, and resolving problems at the root cause quickly and effectively. The Design Engineer will manage engineering changes and follow Group standards in areas such as QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development, and field testing. They will also ensure current and new products meet specified standards for safety, function, and reliability, and work to reduce manufacturing costs through improved design and consultation with production, purchasing, and suppliers. Additionally, the role includes investigating and addressing customer complaints, driving standardization of components and sub-assemblies, and staying knowledgeable about machine component advancements and competitor design trends to apply the latest technology where appropriate.

Requirements

• Recent Engineering graduate or 1+ years of experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Responsibilities

• Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products
• Produce full manufacturing specification package including Engineering BOM's
• Resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively, and manage engineering changes
• Follow Group standards in the areas of QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing
• Follow Group engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure effective global management of released engineering data
• Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability
• Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and through consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers
• Investigate and address customer complaints in a timely manner
• Drive standardization of components and sub-assemblies within the product line
• Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative
• Other duties as assigned
