About The Position

At Contech Engineered Solutions, we are a leading force in the world of structural engineering. We work closely with sales personnel, consulting engineers, contractors, and customers to promote, install, and evaluate our innovative bridge products. Our Structures team specializes in developing engineering solutions for short to medium span bridges on a national scale. This collaborative team comprises professionals from various disciplines, including Engineering, CAD, Sales, and Operations. This is a unique opportunity to work part-time hours (approximately 24-hours per week) as an engineer in our West Chester, OH corporate headquarters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, strong preference for degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Excel required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to develop and maintain strong team and client relationships.
• High level of analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification preferred.
• Minimum 2-years of experience working on civil engineering projects preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, finite element analysis, and/or structural analysis software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the field sales team in seamlessly integrating Contech's products into site plans, focusing on Contech's precast concrete bridge products. This involves preparation of engineering drawings and calculations, review of project plans, development of project solutions, and providing technical advice.
• Perform structural analysis and design of bridge elements, including superstructures, foundations, and retaining walls.
• Provide essential technical support to the manufacturing team as needed to ensure the proper fabrication of Contech products.
• Coordinate efforts with field sales and manufacturing teams to address questions and concerns related to the proper design, manufacture, and installation of Contech's products.
• Maintain a working knowledge of governing specifications covering Contech products and contribute to the development, writing, and modification of such specifications.
• Assist in writing and developing technical papers and product literature necessary to support, promote, and train stakeholders on Contech products.
• Stay updated with knowledge and certifications in the civil/structural engineering field. Attend industry trade shows, continuing education courses, and seminars as needed.
