Design Engineer I

Techtronic Industries - TTI•Anderson, SC

About The Position

The Design Engineer I supports the design and development of outdoor power equipment systems and components, working under the guidance of senior engineers and engineering leadership. The role contributes to product development from concept through production by creating detailed designs, supporting prototype builds, conducting testing, and assisting with product validation. It also offers the opportunity to develop technical skills while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, manufacturable products. The position supports assigned components, sub-assemblies, or systems through concept development, layout, detailed CAD, validation, and production release. It develops and maintains 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, tolerance stacks, and specifications, and supports design trade-off analysis, structured problem-solving, design risk management, verification planning, testing, engineering change documentation, and product release activities. Designs must account for functional performance, regulatory compliance, durability, safety, manufacturability, assembly, quality, and cost. The Design Engineer works with manufacturing engineering, sourcing, quality, suppliers, Product Management, and global cross-functional teams. The role supports compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable UL, ANSI, CSA, and ISO expectations. Travel may be up to 10%, both domestic and international.
