About The Position

This role is for a composites design engineer, who will own the flow path spacer for the GE9X engine and support other composite hardware on the fan module. In this role you will be accountable for all design aspects of the owned hardware, working within the module team to execute projects to meet business goals and company objectives. In addition to working alongside the GE team, this role will interface with suppliers and repair shops to provide necessary support to meet new engine delivery and fielded engine repair timelines. The role has some autonomy, but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
Minimum 3 years experience in an engineering position
Prior experience working with composite materials

Responsibilities

Act as hardware owner of the GE9X flow path spacer supporting multiple areas including, ramp up at suppliers, hardware non-conformances, producibility improvements, etc.
Support other composite hardware on the GE9X fan module
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
Understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
