About The Position

NewGen Technologies is hiring a Design Engineer – Core (WAN) to support government customers’ global enterprise networks. The role supports Network Architecture in modernizing network components and delivering services for requirements in a mission-focused operational enterprise. Candidates must have hands-on router engineering and/or operations experience. The engineer is responsible for the overall architecture of the Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Wide Area Network (WAN), developing MPLS WAN service solutions, evaluating and integrating lab equipment, testing, assisting with security accreditation, and preparing and maintaining technical documentation. As needed, the engineer also supports Tier-4 production troubleshooting and develops proactive network analysis solutions for the operations team.

Requirements

• TS/SCI CI Poly clearance.
• 16 years of experience, which may be a combination of work history and education: doctorate plus 8 years, master’s degree plus 10 years, bachelor’s degree plus 12 years, associate degree plus 14 years, or high school diploma plus 16 years.
• Must be compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
• Hands-on router engineering and/or operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall architecture of the Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Wide Area Network (WAN).
• Develop MPLS WAN service solutions.
• Evaluate, integrate, and test lab equipment.
• Assist with the security accreditation process.
• Develop and maintain relevant technical documentation.
• As needed, support Tier-4 production troubleshooting.
• Develop proactive network analysis solutions for the operations team.
