Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or civil engineering or higher required
  • Minimum 4 years’ post graduate experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in design of structures and civil works
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of structural systems and civil works for large-scale projects
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design principles, including: Load calculations, Foundation design, Steel and concrete structures
  • Familiarity with geotechnical considerations and site development
  • Understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing for civil and structural works.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., AS, Eurocode, or equivalent).
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, or similar tools.
  • Experience in Data Centre industry
  • Understanding of hyperscaler cloud and AI customer requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working client side as an SME is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Lead civil and structural design and review for hyperscale data centres, ensuring compliance with standards and delivering resilient, reliable solutions.
  • Optimise designs for efficiency and sustainability, supporting high-density deployments and long-term performance.
  • Collaborate across disciplines and mentor team members, driving innovation and best practices in civil and structural engineering.
  • Lead the development and review of structural and civil designs for large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards.
  • Produce structural load calculations, foundation designs, and detailed drawings, including general arrangement plans and reinforcement schedules.
  • Oversee the design development of structural systems, including steel and concrete framing, foundations, and major civil works layouts.
  • Interface with key stakeholders and clients to address critical aspects of structural and civil design.
  • Support structural modelling and analysis, including reliability, redundancy, and resilience assessments for mission-critical facilities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to structural integrity, constructability, and long-term performance.
  • Actively coordinate design development with other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, electrical) and external consultants.
  • Prepare basis of design documents, technical specifications, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support project teams from inception to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate execution of civil and structural works.
