About The Position

This role involves assisting other engineers in producing conceptual designs to construction documents, covering a range of electrical systems from utilization voltage to low voltage. Key activities include detailed equipment layout, single and three-line diagrams, grounding, and feeder routing. The position requires the preparation and review of simple electrical sketches, specifications, and data sheets, as well as performing simple routine electrical calculations. The Design Engineer, Associate will also assist in design reviews, checks, and the development of specifications and installation details for construction materials and equipment. Proficiency in 2D CAD/BIM skills is essential, along with assisting in the development of Method of Procedures (MOP) and Sequence of Operations (SOP) to support construction execution. The role also involves interpreting mechanical, special, and other miscellaneous equipment schedules and logic narratives, and the ability to accurately estimate completion percentages of assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Uses the electrical engineering web site to access department guides and standards
  • Assist other engineers in producing conceptual design to construction documents from utilization voltage to low voltage including, detailed equipment layout, single and three-line diagrams, grounding, and feeder routing.
  • Prepares and reviews simple electrical sketches, specifications and data sheets
  • Performs simple routine electrical calculations
  • Assists in design reviews and checks
  • Assist in the development of specifications and installation details of construction materials and equipment.
  • Uses 2D CAD/BIM skills
