Design Drafting is an exciting career at Johnson Controls. Our Design Drafters are partners to our engineering team and help us bring our designs to life. Our Hattiesburg location is hiring design drafters to provide full drafting responsibility from concept to customer shipment for our Custom Engineered Air Handlers. Their drawings provide specifications for sheet metal and structural steel fabrication in manufacturing plants. In this role you get to work on a variety of projects that range in both size and complexity. Your design sessions can take anywhere from 6 hours to 300 hours of detailing time, providing you with a sense of satisfaction when your designs are brought to life. Requirements
- Four (4) years of related drafting and design work experience OR an Associate degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related science with 2 years of experience.
- Previous experience as a CAD operator is required.
- Must be very organized.
- Able to work with strict deadlines.
- Persistent in obtaining desired feedback from suppliers.
- Utilization of CAD systems (Autocad and Inventor(Preferred), 2016 or higher)
Nice To Haves
- Inventor CAD system experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide full drafting responsibility from concept to customer shipment for Custom Engineered Air Handlers.
- Develop design documentation in 2D and 3D environments utilizing CAD systems.
- Prepare bills of material utilizing computerized BOM system.
- Retrieve and apply information from various purchasing and manufacturing specifications.
