About The Position

As a Design Drafter Lead you will oversee drafting teams, ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliances, and serve as the primary link between junior drafters, supervisors and customers.

Requirements

2+ years of hands on drafting experience, with prior leadership or project coordination experience
Associate’s degree or vocational certificate in drafting, computer aided design (CAD), or a related engineering technology field
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) and familiarity with database tools like Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership capabilities, and clear communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Oversee, mentor, and review work from junior and intermediate drafters to guarantee precision and adherence to project deadlines.
Produce complex 2D technical drawings and 3D models using CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit) based on engineer or architect specifications.
Ensure all plans comply with customer requirements, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Bridge gaps with project managers and construction teams to resolve design conflicts.
Assess project timelines and assign drafting tasks based on team capacity and individual skill levels.
Coordinate training sessions for new hires on company-specific CAD templates and specialized software plugins.
Perform thorough geometric, dimensional, and text-based reviews on all drawings before final submission to eliminate errors.
